    Hi,
    I want to convert the aac (5.1) track to ac3 DD 5.1 Pro logic .
    I know many of you will say that aac and ac3 are similar or somewhat like that ..
    So I want to make you know that, the aac file is not opening in my Sony Home Theater ..
    It is saying "Error in audio"
    I have separate audio and video streams for the movie ..
    I want to know that how to remux the audio track (aac) into AC3 so that my Home theater can play it ..
    My Home Theater Model is DAV tZ-215 and I am using USB input ..
    AS far as I know the problem is not in the system and in the audio track instead ..
    So please let me know how to fix this track ( like bitrate and frequency) so that It can be played ..
    My System supports AAC as per it's manual buit m not sure why is is not playable ..
    Kindly provide some tools to remux the audio file (aac) into AC3 without losing the quality and surround ..

    Maybe eac3to.

    Or if it's a mkv with aac 5.1 you can try popcorn mkv audio converter.

    I am developing TAudioConverter.

    What happens if you open video file instead of extracted audio file? Also sending mediainfo output might help. You can send a small sample as well.

    Cheers.

    You will always loose quality since you convert from one to another lossy audio compression format.

    Hybrid should also be able to do the job:
    1. start Hybrid
    2. Main->Input File
    3. Main->Audio custom
    4. Main->Output File->new name with .raw ending
    5. Audio->Main->Reencode audio stream
    6. Audio->Main->Audio Encoding->Audio format->ac3
    7. Audio->Main->Audio Encoding->Bitrate->384 (or 576)
    8. Audio->Main->Filtering
    9. Audio->Main->Audio Filtering->Auto gain
    10. Audio->Main->Audio Filtering->DRC->Film Standard
    11. Main->Add to Queue
    12. Main->Start Queue

    You have tried a number of highly rated tools. None of them seem to be able to deal with your aac, which is not exactly an exotic codec. Pretty much anything rated to handle aac 5.1 should pose no problem whatsoever.

    Seems to me either you're not using the software properly or the aac codec in the file itself is wonky.

    May be your are correct .
    But as far as I know, I have tried each n every thing from my side ..
    I also tried some freeware audio converters available in the search result of google but they are CRAP and ruins the stream :\ .
    Now Again trying Megui with some changes ...

    Strange tested here on Linux&Windows and it worked fine on both. Normally Hybrid should at least report an Error if something isn't right.
    -> if you send me a link to one of you files you can't reencode I can take a look at it.

  13. If you have something like ffdshow installed, try selecting DirectShow as the decoding method in MeGUI. Not that I've had many issues encoding audio, but generally DirectShow will work as long as you can play the original audio successfully.

    Foobar2000 is another option. It's an audio player but also a good converter. When you first use it's converter it'll ask for the location of the encoder. You'll need to use Aften for AC3. The Aften encoder can be found in MeGUI's installation folder in the Tools subfolder.

    I don't know how you're converting with MeGUI but you can either add the extracted audio to the audio encoding section or simply add the video file (if it's MP4 or MKV etc). If you're extracting the audio to convert it try doing it the other way instead if it's from a video file. Foobar2000 will also play/convert the audio in common video containers without the need to extract it first.
